bootpd implements a DHCP/BOOTP server as defined in RFC951, RFC1542, RFC2131, and RFC2132, as well as a BOOTP/DHCP relay agent. bootpd understands and handles requests that arrive via a DHCP/BOOTP relay agent, allowing the server to be centrally located, and serve many remote subnets.
